ATHLETES OF THE MONTH 🎉 Congratulations to Mia Guo, Gr 12 and Hansen Hsu, Gr 12, for being awarded Senior Co-Athletes of the Month for October!! With all the Provincial qualifiers this month, it was too hard to choose just one!

Make a splash for Mia! This dedicated athlete and leader from the Moscrop Swim Team is a true inspiration, consistently showing up and helping others shine. As a crucial lead coach, she’s invaluable-managing schedules, offering kind advice to improve technique, and mentoring student coaches. Her dedication, leadership, and sportsmanship are clear, but her skill and achievement are undeniable: Mia recently broke a Fraser North swim record in the Girls 50 Meter Freestyle (B) with a blistering time of 28.17 seconds! Her impressive performance also qualified her for Provincials in three individual events (50m Freestyle, 50m Backstroke, and 100m Freestyle) and the Girls 200m Medley Relay, all while she continues to coach and mentor her fellow provincial qualifiers.

Hansen’s journey as an athlete is one defined by grit and transformation. When he first joined cross-country in Grade 8, finishing a 5 km race seemed beyond reach. Through perseverance, discipline, and consistent off-season training, Hansen has completely redefined his limits — this year, he helped lead the senior boys team to bring home the banner and qualified for Provincials. His improvement is the result of years of effort, self-belief, and an unwavering commitment to growth.

What truly sets Hansen apart, however, is his leadership by example. He shows up to every practice with focus and enthusiasm, encourages his teammates during tough workouts, and stays until the very end of every meet to cheer for others. His initiative in bringing new members into the team has helped grow our cross-country program. Hansen’s passion for running extends beyond school — his consistent Strava logs and extra training sessions demonstrate a deep love for the sport that inspires everyone around him. He embodies the qualities of a leader who not only runs for himself but for his team.
